1. PRIZE: Cultural conflicts in our society / Mysen Upper secondary school
What does immigrant culture really consist of? Does it exist at all, and if it does, is it systematically in conflict with Norwegian culture? The conclusion or result of the student's investigation is that immigrant youth experience most of their cultural conflicts in relation to other immigrants, with another cultural background than themselves, and that they are often caused by disparate understanding of history.

3. PRIZE: Is the Red King Crab a resource or an enemy? / Vadsø Upper secondary school
Today the Red King Crab is a well-known phenomenon in Norway, especially in the county of Finnmark.. Aided by a questionnaire and interviews the students learnt that the opinion about the Red King Crab is highly polarized, from considering it a resource to an enemy. The scientists are highly concerned about the eco system, and fear that the King Crab will migrate further south. Fishermen are concerned about the eco system in the fjords, and the King Crab's influence there. Still, they emphasize that the Red King Crab is a valuable resource that they make good money from, and that they also want to harvest in the future.
